American Sign Language - Fall 2017

This is a beginning course in American Sign Language (ASL). The course will include extensive learning in Expressive and Receptive use of ASL through the use of instructor lead activities. Class participation and video observation will allow students to gain a basic ability to use and understand ASL. Additionally, this course will discuss Deaf Culture and the history of Deaf culture for a brief glimpse into this diverse minority culture.

Do you feel intimated by your computer and the world of technology? This might just be the course for you. This computer class will introduce you to the skills needed to feel confident and comfortable with your computer. This is a true beginners course.
The course will begin with the basics of software, hardware and use of a PC computer. This course will place emphasis on Microsoft programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students will become familiar with:
- the Internet and be able to search for websites
- access email social media use, and
- safety on the Internet
Birds of Autumn A Photographic Exploration - Fall 2017

Venturing beyond the birds of backyard feeders, you may discover wild winged ones you never knew existed. No experience with birds needed; curiosity required!
Driving Dynamics SI - Fall 2017

The Maine Driving Dynamics Course offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. This five-hour course will include discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. A certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor teaches the course, and the course format engages students with lectures, videos, and class discussion/participation. Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record. Course can be taken for credit only once every 365 days. (If not on time, you will not get credit for class.) PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING DRIVER’S LICENSE TO CLASS. CLASS HAS A MINIMUM OF 12 PEOPLE AND IS LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE. 65 years and older $10 per person (use PromoCode Driving)
