La Salette, The National Shrine of Our Lady - Attleboro, MA - Fall 2017
with Sue De Cesare
In 1942 the La Salette Missionaries bought the Attleboro, Massachusetts property as a major seminary and in 1952 the construction of the Shrine was announced. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 1953, marked the official opening of the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro. La Salette Shrine is known for their Christmas Festival of Lights, which has grown over the years into a spectacular display during the Christmas Season. It has been a Christmas tradition for thousands of families for well over half a century! There is much to do and see at La Salette Shrine. Shop the Gift Shop, visit the International Display of Nativity Creches, walk the shrine and then get ready for the sun to set and the lights to go on. What a piece of magic! We will stop at the rest area on 95 for lunch and stretch break. Then we will arrive at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette at 2:00 pm. Illumination will take place at 5:00 pm. Dinner will be available to purchase in the cafeteria.
